Cultural Workshops WBHS

On Thursday 5th April, 20 students from the Junior AECG attended a cultural workshop with Aboriginal Elder Dawn Conlan.

Dawn spoke to the students about their heritage, and many discovered they were from the same mob. Great conversations ensued, and the students formed new connections.

Dawn also spoke about the use of culturally appropriate images, and showed the students a DVD about the use of a traditional image from WA. She emphasised that permission needed to be obtained before using Aboriginal images.
Dawn was a wonderful inspiration to our students. Our thanks to the team at Speaking With Colour who facilitated the workshop.
